Good Weekend

Katie and I met at work about a year and a half ago.
When I first met her, I thought she was snooty.
She didn’t say much, neither did I.  It went on for a few months.
One day I was working the front desk, when she walked by.
Instead of walking on out the door, she stopped, turned back, and came to the window to talk.
Craig was deployed at the time and she asked about him.
Anyone who gave me the opportunity to talk about him at the point, was good in my book.
I’ve gotten to know her a lot better since I’ve been back at the Solicitor’s office.
She’s one of the most good-hearted people I know.

Anyways, she invited us to her house Saturday to hang out with her and her husband and some of their friends.  We were really hoping our husbands would click.  And I think they did.  Afterwards we went back to my dad’s house to dog sit.  We got in the hot tub for a little while and then I passed out on the couch with Sadie (which Craig took pictures of).

Just thought I would post a picture from the other night.  I took her to Anna’s parents’ with me since Craig was going to hang out with Josh.  I took her pop-up crate with me so she wouldn’t get in to any trouble.  She’d pop up every now and then just to check things out and give me her sappy look in hopes of letting her out.  I love this dog.  Seriously.  She has such a personality.

One Year.

A year ago today I married my best friend.
I’m still amazed at how fast this year has gone by.
But at the same time, it feels like four years instead of one.
Craig and I have learned so much from each other this year.
And even in the hardest, hardest marriage not at it’s greatest moments, I still can’t imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone but him.

We’ve spent a long weekend at Jekyll Island.
We head back tomorrow morning. Boo.
I can’t tell you how much fun we’ve had together.
And I’ve taken nearly 200 pictures in the span of three days.
He’s been so patient with me, and modeled while I practice with the different settings.
So while he’s past out beside me (we rode bikes around the whole dang island today), I figured I would post a few of my favorites.

Happy Anniversary Craig!  I love you so much!

I figured it was about time I post.  It’s been awhile.

Craig and I are creeping up on our one year anniversary.  I can’t believe it’s already been a year.  I have no idea where the time went.  We’re spending that weekend at Jekyll Island Club and I am sooooooooo looking forward to a weekend away with him.  No distractions.

Craig’s brother, sister-in-law, and our new niece Briley (and Dolce, our doggie niece) came to visit last week.  I took some pictures of her.  She’s adorable.  And a really good baby.  But Craig and I are more and more okay with waiting a few more years before we’re ready to have kids.

My friend at work, Elizabeth, left to go back to New York.  Her last day was yesterday.  You spend so much time with the people you work with.  And basically you either love them or you hate them.  There are a few borderline.  But the best part about my job is the people I work with and for.  (Which will soon change, because no one gets left where they are for long.)  Anyways, I’m going to miss her.  She’s loud in true New Yorker fashion, tells it just like it is, and doesn’t hold back.  But I love that about her.  I think I gravitate towards people like that because I am the complete opposite.

I have a little ticker on my computer that tells me my LSAT test is 2 months and a few days away.  I got the Logic Games section for the most part.  Now I’m just trying to concentrate on the other 2 sections.  It’s going.  Not bad, not good.  Just going.  I think the more I practice, the more I’ll get the hang of it.  I can only hope.

Craig, mom, and I are going to a friend’s wedding tonight.  I went to high school with Jessica.  She was my catcher in softball for four years.  And we’ve kept in touch since then.  I’m excited for her.

Miss Thang got her hair cut a few weeks ago.  It made her a bit spunky.  And her ear just kinda pokes out like that permanently now. I figure it’s a matter of time before the other one catches on.  She’s a goober.

Happy Easter!
