I was supposed to start my new job on Monday at the investment firm near Perimeter.  I gave my two weeks and worked through Friday afternoon.  But I’ve had a change of plans and I couldn’t be more excited about it!  I kind of had an opportunity fall into my lap.  A friend of a friend who owns a business told me Tuesday or Wednesday last week that her accountant was looking for someone.  On a whim, I e-mail the friend my resume but explain my situation.  My need for part time work right now, starting the new job on Monday, but them not gauranteeing me anything that could lead to full time.  It was just an opportunity to actually get some accounting work experience, even if it was specialized. 

Well Friday before I headed to my last day of work at my current job, I got a phone call from the accountant.  Long story short, she asked me if I would come in and talk to her a little more Saturday morning at the office in Auburn.  I was there for 2 hours and 45 minutes, and I came out with a job as a Staff Accountant.  If things go well these next few months (which I will make sure to bust my rear end so they do go well) there is the potential to go full-time January 1st.  

I had a feeling going over there on Saturday morning.  I’ve struggled lately with feeling stuck.  This is what I want to do with my life.  And I am going to take every opportunity I can to soak up as much as I can from this experience.  I feel blessed that it just kind of presented itself the way it did
